Cathouse BBQ is our July cookout-season gathering: food, heat, backyard social energy, after-dark music, and the old Victorian pretending it is a normal house for approximately twelve minutes.
The Event
Cathouse BBQ is a 21+ summer social built around food, conversation, music, outdoor air when possible, and the particular pleasure of a haunted house party that starts casual and gets stranger after sunset.
It is one of the more grounded Cathouse events. People mingle. People eat. People catch up. Someone says they are only staying for a little while and then the lighting changes and suddenly it is midnight.
What to Expect
Expect cookout energy, summer clothes, music, social time, themed visuals, strange domesticity, and the gradual shift from backyard hang to private house party.
There may be grilled things. There may be sides. There may be someone in all black standing near the food like a vampire at a family reunion. This is encouraged as long as they use a plate.
The BBQ works because people respect the home inside the event. Casual does not mean sloppy. Summer does not mean lawless.

Respect the food, the hosts, the neighbors, the cats, the rooms you are allowed in, and the rooms you are not. Clean up after yourself. Ask before touching, photographing, flirting, or joining someone’s conversation too intensely.
No pressure to drink. No pressure to participate. No treating casual hospitality like permission to get careless.

About Haunted Cathouse Events
The Haunted Cathouse is a 21+ private arts, music, kink-aware, and community space in an old Roxbury Victorian with too much history and several cats in the mythology. Our events are built around music, consent, weird culture, chosen family, and the belief that a good house party can still feel like a portal.
