Summerween is August Halloween at the Haunted Cathouse: costumes in the heat, pumpkins out of season, horror under humidity, and a house full of people who know the calendar is a suggestion.
The Event
Summerween is our 21+ Halloween-in-summer event for costume people, horror people, off-season Halloween loyalists, monster kids, beach goths, slasher campers, and anyone who starts noticing skull décor before the stores admit what they are doing.
It is not a watered-down costume party. It is the first crack in the October door.
What to Expect
Expect costumes, spooky décor, orange-and-black heatwave energy, DJs, dancing, horror visuals, summer slasher references, haunted carnival touches, monster prom moments, and a room that smells faintly like fog machine and warm eyeliner.
The house leans into the seasonal wrongness: pumpkin imagery in August, black cats under summer lights, skeletons before anyone has permission, and guests dressed like they took a wrong turn between camp, crypt, and club.
The night is playful, but the standards stay sharp.
Who It’s For
Summerween is for adults who never really put Halloween away.
It is for costume builders, horror fans, goths, ravers, camp counselors with secrets, beach vampires, pumpkin obsessives, black-cat believers, and people who want a summer party with better shadows.
Dress up if you can survive the temperature. Dress lightly if you cannot. The house respects both commitment and thermoregulation.

Ask before touching props, bodies, outfits, masks, hair, harnesses, wings, tails, claws, or anything attached to a person. Ask before taking photos. Respect answers immediately.

About Haunted Cathouse Events
The Haunted Cathouse is a 21+ private arts, music, kink-aware, and community space in an old Roxbury Victorian with too much history and several cats in the mythology. Our events are built around music, consent, weird culture, chosen family, and the belief that a good house party can still feel like a portal.
