House Rules

These are the house rules of the Haunted Cathouse. ALL guests must read and agree to these rules prior to entering. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in consequences up to and including unceremonious ejection from the premises.

Age Limit All guests of the Cathouse must be 21 or older.

BDSM/Kink Play Play is allowed in all rooms except for the kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, and bedrooms (except for with permission from the room’s owner). In addition to the general house rules, play among consenting adults shall be governed by the “Rules of Play“, and found printed in the dungeon.

Cats Don’t Let The Cats Out. If you’re here for a party or gathering of some sort the cats are probably already locked away. If the cats are out and about, they may try to fool you into thinking you can let them outside. It’s a trap. They are very devious. Do not trust them and be alert of your surroundings at all times when entering and exiting. If they are locked in a room please do not open the door, as they will use cunning and wit to escape. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Contributing To The Party This shit is tons of fun, but it’s also resource intensive. All of our events are potluck, so please make or bring a dish, if you have the means to do so, and if not, you can always help out by washing some dishes, helping with cleanup, or doing whatever you can to help facilitate the gathering. You can also contribute by having fun, being yourself and taking a sense of wonder and understanding with you when you leave back out into the world.

Crash Space There is a limited amount of crash space available. If you would like to crash, please contact a host and make arrangements at least 24 hours in advance.

Doors Any closed door shall remain closed and be an indicator the room is off limits. If you feel you need to enter a room with a closed door, find a host to get permission and assistance.

Dress Code Guests must be street legal at all times outside of the house. Inside, guests may wear whatever makes them comfortable, from t-shirts, to diapers, pajamas, full leather, latex, lingerie or anything else that makes you feel comfortable. Nudity is allowed in all rooms except the kitchen & dining room.

Guest Policy All guests of the Cathouse must be vetted prior to attending an event. At a minimum, vetting means knowing the individual well enough to make an informed decision about their character, and how well they will fit in with the dynamic of the Cathouse. Your first date from Tinder is probably not the person to bring, nor is the cool cat you met at the munch an hour before showing up. Hosts must be given the name of any potential guests at least 24 hours prior to an event. We reserve the right to deny entry to anyone for any reason at any time. By bringing a guest you are taking responsibility for their actions and behavior. If your guest breaks a rule, you will also be responsible for the repercussions. If they are asked to leave, you are responsible for ensuring that they promptly leave the premises, accompanying them if necessary. Ditto if they need to go to the hospital.

Hatefulness / Judgments Sex-Positivity is a Must. The Friends and Family of The Cathouse have a myriad of identities and lifestyles and are members of many intersectional communities. We recognize that everyone is different, lives different and loves different, and it’s all cool, so let’s all just be cool to each other, cool? Hatefulness Will Not Be Tolerated, unless you’re hating on a hate-monger. But yeah, hatefulness, judgement and kink-shaming of any variety ain’t cool. If you’re not OK with that, do everyone a favor and stay home.

Intoxicants Moderate use of alcohol, marijuana, and substances legal under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts are permitted. Please know your own limits. If you are going to indulge, please take public transportation, or secure a designated driver. We reserve the right to cut you off if you are overly inebriated, and confiscate your keys if you are driving. If you are unsafe to drive, crash space will be arranged with the hosts.

Liability BY ENTERING THIS PROPERTY, YOU HEREBY ASSUME ALL OF THE RISKS OF ATTENDING AND PARTICIPATING IN ANY/ALL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE HAUNTED CATHOUSE, including by way of example and not limitation, any risks that may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities being released, from dangerous or defective equipment or property owned, maintained, or controlled by the hosts, or because of their possible liability without fault.

Police Don’t Let The Cops In. So far we only had one emergency situation where the police made an appearance, and we’d like to keep it that way. If the cops do show up, politely ask them to wait outside while you close the door and notify the homeowner. This is your legal right.

Quiet Space Jaye’s room (The black door at the top of the 2nd floor stairs) is a designated quiet space.

Smoking Smoking marijuana and vaping (marijuana, nicotine, or otherwise) are permitted anywhere on the property. Cigarette smoking is limited to the front porch and backyard. Cigarette butts should be thrown in the appropriate receptacle.

Failure to comply with these rules will result in repercussions up to and including ejection from the premises, and being blacklisted from future events. Last Revised: 2019-05-04
