October is when the Haunted Cathouse stops pretending to be seasonal and simply becomes more honest: old Victorian bones, costumes, fog, cats in the mythology, music in the walls, and something upstairs that approves of the lighting.

The Event

Halloween is the Cathouse main event season: a 21+ private Halloween gathering built around costumes, DJs, dancing, horror visuals, theatrical décor, underground music, house lore, kink-aware community, and full October behavior under clear rules.

The house was built in 1880. It has seen enough to know when people are trying too hard. Halloween at the Cathouse does not need to imitate a haunted house. It just needs to open the door.

What to Expect

Expect costumes, music, dancing, fog, lights, horror projections, strange rooms, private jokes, Raveyard signal bleed, cat-haunted symbolism, and a crowd that takes Halloween seriously without becoming unbearable about it.

The room can hold vampires, slashers, witches, devils, dolls, ghosts, monsters, black cats, fetish horror, camp references, classic goth, obscure costumes, and one person dressed as something only three people understand. Those three people will find each other.

The night can get loud, glamorous, sweaty, funny, eerie, and chaotic. The rules do not blink.

Who It’s For

Halloween is for adults who treat October like a necessary organ.

It is for costume people, horror fans, goths, ravers, kink-aware guests, artists, DJs, dancers, house regulars, careful newcomers, and anyone who wants a private adult Halloween party with teeth and structure.

Full costume is strongly encouraged. Respect is not optional.

House Rules

The costume may be monstrous. The behavior cannot be.

Ask before touching outfits, props, masks, bodies, collars, wings, tails, hair, makeup, or anything else someone brought into the room on or near their person. Ask before photos. Ask before intensifying a flirtation. Ask before making someone part of your bit.

21+ only. RACK-aware behavior expected. Boundaries are enforced.

Why It Matters

Because everything else all year points here.

Halloween gives the Cathouse permission to become fully itself: haunted home, private arts space, music room, costume altar, social experiment, cat-adjacent myth engine, and October machine.

Dress & Vibe

Full costume strongly encouraged. Classic monster, goth formal, vampire, witch, black cat, slasher, final girl, devil, haunted doll, cryptid, camp horror, fetish horror, cursed celebrity, obscure reference, or whatever makes the room stop and process.

House Rule Spotlight

The scarier the costume, the cleaner the consent needs to be.

The door opens. Behave like you were invited.

About Haunted Cathouse Events

The Haunted Cathouse is a 21+ private arts, music, kink-aware, and community space in an old Roxbury Victorian with too much history and several cats in the mythology. Our events are built around music, consent, weird culture, chosen family, and the belief that a good house party can still feel like a portal.

Core Event Standards

  • 21+ only
  • Consent is active, specific, and reversible
  • RACK-aware behavior expected
  • Respect the house, the hosts, the cats, the neighbors, and the room
  • Costumes, themes, flirtation, and play do not override boundaries
  • Private-house energy: act like someone invited you into a real place, because they did
